Moulage Van Gogh - Johan Tahon
Moulage - making a mould
In early August, the plaster model Johan Tahon's sculpture of Van Gogh will be molded so that it can then be cast in bronze. The making of the mold is done by Kunstbronsgieterij De Groeve on the terrace in the garden of the Vincent van GoghHuis in Zundert. First a layer of silicone rubber is applied, then a support mold of epoxy. The mold then goes to the bronze foundry in Merelbeke (B) for casting the bronze Van Gogh monument that will be placed in Vincent's birthplace in 2024.
An attraction
The making of the mold is an attraction in itself. Therefore, the Vincent van GoghHuis and sculptor Johan Tahon invite interested parties to witness it. Everyone is most welcome on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, between 2 and 5 p.m. There will then also be an opportunity to view the exhibition Johan Tahon - Van Gogh preacher in the Van GoghHuis. This exhibition will be on display until August 27, 2023.
