Zevenbergen: In Zevenbergen there used to be Jan Provily's boys' boarding school. Vincent attended school here after the summer of 1864 - he was 11 at the time - and remained there until he was admitted to the HBS in Tilburg two years later. Later Vincent described in a letter how his parents brought him to Zevenbergen. This expresses a great sense of desolation.
